My style & approach

Whether you’ve hired a photographer before or this is your first time, it’s important to understand what you’re signing up for to ensure we’re the right match. My goal is for you to feel confident that the experience I provide will exceed your expectations.
I photograph up to 35 weddings a year. I used to take on 70 or more. The reason I limit the amount I take on is because of the effort and care I put into each and every celebration. I want to be fresh, creative and inspired for all my couples.

Documentary photography with an editorial flair

Choosing the right photographer is so important, and I want to be completely transparent about the style I bring to your special day. My approach is a mix of documentary-style photography, capturing those candid, real moments, with just a touch of editorial flair for those posed shots when the time comes. My goal is to focus on the raw emotions—hugs, smiles, tears—anything that makes your day truly unique. About 95% of the time, I’ll be quietly observing and letting you be yourselves. The other 5% is when I’ll step in to guide you for some stunning portraits, but there’s no pressure! There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to do portraits.

Frequent questions

  • A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your wedding date. Once we discuss a package you would like to book I will send you the booking information and my wedding agreement. Once the agreement is signed and the booking fee is paid I’m all yours.

  • I base my business from Hunter Valley as I work there most weekends. I live on the Central Coast and dont charge travel to the Hunter Valley or Sydney.

    I charge travel for weddings over 2 hours away.

  • Of course! I actually meet all my couples. It is very rare that I would book any wedding without meeting you first. My whole business is based around the experience. We can either meet in person or most people are happy with a video call to start things off.

  • I usually deliver 80-100 images per hour on average. It all depends on the coverage and what is happening on the day. I curate the images to best tell the story of the day and try to include as many happy faces as possible.

  • No, I don’t deliver RAW images or unedited files. All images are edited by me one shot at a time.

  • I photograph in a photojournalistic manner, capturing the day how it naturally unfolds.

  • Yes I do! My background is in graphic design so I have a passion for design and print. They are such a beautiful heirloom from your day, to be passed down through generations.

  • I will do whatever you want from me on the day. Whether you want direction and guidance to feel comfortable or you prefer a documentary approach and want everything to be candid. I am more than comfortable with both approaches to photography.

  • I don’t alter the way you look other than skin blemishes that are temporary (bruise, pimple, etc.)

  • If for any reason (I would have to be very unwell) I would find a replacement photographer or photographers to cover the day who can capture it in a similar style. I am not legally bound to do so but I would do everything in my power to make sure you had a good replacement.

  • I am all about embracing whatever weather comes. There are always options to photograph indoors, use umbrellas or hide away from wind. The best approach is to accept it and try to be as creative as possible in the moment.

  • I send a preview gallery within 2 days. I deliver the final gallery around 3 weeks later. It can take up to 6 weeks in busy periods but this is rare.
